Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and the opinion on whether it is a positive trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument regarding economic growth is mentioned in both the second and third paragraphs without significant expansion or new insights. While the position is clear, the supporting examples, such as 'local and traditional cloths', are quite brief. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more detailed explanations or specific real-world examples to fully develop your arguments rather than restating the same points in different sections.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'it is also given appreciation to those who want to do something by their own'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'economic growth', 'imported goods', and 'branded things'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'decrease the poverty from the nation' (should be 'reduce poverty in the nation') and 'positive deployment' (likely meant 'development'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and you rely on repetitive phrasing. Expanding your range to include more precise collocations and academic synonyms would improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally affect the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('individuals who prefers' should be 'individuals who prefer') and article usage ('the nation' vs 'a nation'). Additionally, some sentences are structurally awkward, such as 'it is also given appreciation to those who want to do something by their own'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to limit the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage will help improve your accuracy.
