Student answer (Band 6.0)

In conventional era, technology and transportation was not developed so people did not have option of taking food from outside but as in the advancement in technology give numerous food option to people which they could not grown in their own country. In my prospective its a this trend have number of consequences it not only effect the relation with other countries but also cause malnutrition in the country.

The primary consequence could be the country would not able to build the relations across the world which effect the economic growth because in these days import export would be the great factors in the countries growth. In addition , stop doing importing good would cause different kind of nutrient deficiencies .A good illustration is , every country could not grow every types of food which would fulfil there body need as a result people could face nutrient deficiencies .

Another point is that people would not able to try the food of another countries which would food make them conservative they would not get exposure or if in the future they would travel outside the country then it seems difficult to live their. Moreover this practice , m9ght effect the employment rate in both countries.

There are some people who believe that using just local area product might save the resources or would make the country independent but I contradict to there view because eating our local product either effect the the country economically or make the people dependable on just regular food .

Taking everthing in the account importing goods would make the countries relations across the world and help them to grow economically . What the government need to do is that always encourage the import and export so they would get benefits from these two both factors.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and expressing a clear negative stance. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the claim that buying local goods causes 'malnutrition' is an over-generalisation and lacks logical support. While the position is consistent, the arguments regarding economic growth and cultural exposure are repetitive and could be more effectively supported with specific examples. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully explained with clear, logical reasoning rather than just stating the consequence.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'In my prospective' and 'Taking everthing in the account' are used to signal transitions but are grammatically incorrect or awkward. Furthermore, the flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the link between importing goods and nutrient deficiency is not clearly established. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words would significantly enhance the logical progression of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'conventional era' instead of 'the past' or 'traditional times', and 'dependable' instead of 'dependent'. The repetition of basic terms like 'food' and 'countries' limits the sophistication of the writing. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary, such as 'globalisation', 'economic interdependence', or 'nutritional diversity', rather than relying on simple, repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('transportation was not developed', 'every country could not grow every types'), missing articles, and incorrect word forms ('effect' used instead of 'affect'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring correct verb tenses and pluralisation, will help improve the overall accuracy.
