Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this modern scenario, everything is available 24*7. and this is due to the import and export system. But, thousand of people give more preference to the local produced products instead of imported goods and this is because they think that if they spend money in their country or in local area then it will help to boost their economy. In this essay, I want to shed some light on the major reason behind this.

To begin with the first reason, the local producers get priority to produce the products and get a source of income. All the products are made locally thus, there is no implementation of import and export tax on the products. Consequently, People can get products at genuine and affordable price. This is the second main reason of buying local products.

Thirdly, it increase the demand of the labor. If there is no import and export, it will increase the job opportunities. They need more people to do work in the manufacturing sector. As a result, local people will get job occupations.

Apart from this, Usually big trucks or trailer are used to import and export the products. if there is no need of importing the good then there will no traffic congestion as well as low pollution.

Overall, it can be inferred that, There are lots of benefits behind buying the local goods. People gets chance to earn income and show the talents of making goods in front of others. Moreover, It boost the local economy. people do not have any need to go other countries or other areas for work if they get jobs in their own area.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and the evaluation of the trend. However, the development is somewhat superficial. While you mention economic benefits and environmental impacts, the ideas are presented as a list rather than being fully extended with specific examples or logical depth. The position is clear, but the essay lacks a formal conclusion that synthesizes the arguments. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and provides a more detailed explanation of the 'why' and 'how' behind your points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'To begin with', 'Thirdly', 'Apart from this'). There are also issues with sentence-level cohesion, such as the abrupt start to sentences like 'Usually big trucks or trailer are used...'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between ideas could be smoother. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one would improve the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You rely on basic terms like 'products', 'goods', and 'jobs'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'job occupations' (redundant) and 'genuine price' (unnatural collocation). To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to economics and environmental issues, such as 'sustainability', 'carbon footprint', or 'local commerce', and ensure that collocations are used correctly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it increase the demand', 'People gets chance'), article usage (e.g., 'the local produced products'), and pluralization (e.g., 'thousand of people'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary capitalization after commas and periods. While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to limit the score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy will significantly improve your writing.
