Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that consumers should buy goods that are produced in their local area, rather than imported goods. While this has both positive and negative aspects, I belive its a positive trend overall.
One significant advantage of this trend is that the local people will get employed and can earn money and run their livelihood, as if people buy the goods from their local place the income and production need to be increase so they need more people. For example, China is one of the countries who developed evrything by their own and they are importing very less thing so its help their people also and expense is very less for manfuctaring.
On the other hand, unity increases amongst the people as understanding to buy everything locally produced, ans also if people will get everything easily by the nearest place happpiness increase and its says where there is people happy the countries will progress more. For example, the countries who produced the goods more are really cheaper for the people who are living their and the same thing for other people are very expensive.
In conclusion, this trend has a few disadvanatges, like some things we will never know about the other countries' products and also the knowledge they are using in their product or the manufacturing process. One big example is China every people want to visit china to do business or to learn the manufacturing cost. But the positive trends are far more. therefore,it is a positive trend.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and the opinion on whether it is a positive or negative trend. However, the development of ideas is limited. The explanation regarding employment is somewhat repetitive, and the example of China is not clearly linked to the concept of 'local' versus 'imported' goods in a way that supports the argument effectively. The conclusion mentions disadvantages but fails to integrate them into a balanced discussion, leading to a somewhat superficial treatment of the topic. To improve, you should provide more specific, logical explanations for your points rather than relying on general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as the phrase 'as if people buy the goods' or the awkward transition 'ans also'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult to follow the logic between sentences. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence flows naturally into the next, rather than relying on simple conjunctions.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'run their livelihood' instead of 'earn a living' and 'importing very less thing' instead of 'importing very few goods'. Spelling errors are frequent, including 'evrything', 'manfuctaring', 'happpiness', and 'disadvanatges'. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To improve, you should focus on learning collocations and common academic vocabulary, and proofread your work carefully to catch basic spelling mistakes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'its says where there is people happy the countries will progress more'. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, article usage, and punctuation (e.g., 'its' instead of 'it is' or 'it's'). These errors are frequent and sometimes cause difficulty for the reader. Increasing your control over basic sentence construction and reducing the frequency of errors in tense and agreement will significantly improve your score.
