Student answer (Band 6.0)
Since few decades, the debate in ongoing on buying local products. More and more people are selecting local products instead of foreign products. There are couples of reasons for this trend and has both pros and cons of this. Both causes and whether its positive or negative trend will be discussed in the ensuring paragraphs.
Out of all the reasons, the foremost one is cheaper. This is to say that majority of the times local products are more affordable than imported products due to which customer prefer to buy that first. Besides this it is more trustworthy. Citizens trust the local product more just because they know that product better.
Few positive points for this is that it will boost economy as well as local business. When people opt to buy local area products it will directly after the countries economy. The best example for this is India. Indian government has launch a new project name as "Atmanirbhar Bharat" which means Self-reliant India. In this they encourage citizens to buy local and made in India product. As a result of this a dramatic change in there economy is noted.
There are also few demerits of this, like sudden demands of particular product increases due to which it creates scarcity. Sometimes it will also affect to the people working in import and export. They might lose their job or unable to reach the desired targets.
In conclusions, customers highly recommended buying local products rather than imported products because of the price difference and trusted items. I believe that it is a positive trend because it will not only support local businesses but also boost countries economy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and providing a clear opinion on whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of why local products are 'more trustworthy' is underdeveloped. The example of India's 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' is relevant and well-integrated, which helps to support the argument. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your points with more detailed explanations or additional examples, ensuring that the link between the reasons and the overall trend is more robustly articulated throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Besides this', 'As a result of this', and 'In conclusions'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'In conclusions' (should be 'In conclusion') and 'Since few decades' (which is not a standard cohesive opening). The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the transition between the reasons and the evaluation of the trend could be smoother. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'bad', and 'things'. There are also some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'couples of reasons' (should be 'a couple of reasons') and 'after the countries economy' (should be 'affect the country's economy'). While your meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or precise vocabulary limits your score. Try to incorporate more topic-specific collocations related to economics and consumer behaviour to demonstrate a wider range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'the debate in ongoing' (should be 'is ongoing'), 'customer prefer' (should be 'customers prefer'), and 'there economy' (should be 'their economy'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with missing articles and incorrect verb forms. While you attempt complex structures, the control over them is inconsistent. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
