Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays some people are increasingly purchasing goods produced locally rather than imported goods. This is because it offers budget friendly prices and less taxes. I think this is a positive development because it improves sales of local businesses and help promotes authentic and tradition methods of making goods.
The main reason of buying goods produced by local manufacturer is cheaper and affordable. Because there is no extra import duty or taxes on products that are produced in local area. Furthermore, to transfer locally produced goods from one location to other is affordable, therefore goods prices are very less compared to imported items. For example, In China devices produced by local companies such as Xiomi and Vivo are cheaper than Apple and Meta, as purchasing devices manufactured in the USA and UK cost more. Because it costs more money for transportation.
Promoting local items produced using traditional and authentic methods help local area to preserve their culture and also it increases sales of local businesses. Increase in local businesses significantly Improve the GDP of that country while reserving their culture and authentic methods. For examples, in India processed food produced by Amul dairy is budget-friendly and company used tradition methods to produce items such as Paneer, Sweets and Yogurt. Therefore, most of the people prefer purchasing those items produced by local dairy rather than relying on imported goods, so they can avoid paying extra taxes for imported items.
In conclusion, to promote goods produced by local companies are more preferable now, as it offers budget-friendly price and also helps to preserve traditional and authentic methods.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for choosing local goods and the evaluation of this trend. The position is clear from the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide examples like Xiaomi and Amul, the explanation of why this is a positive trend could be more nuanced. For instance, you mention GDP and cultural preservation, but these points are slightly repetitive. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph fully explores the implications of your arguments rather than just restating the benefits of affordability.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'For example', and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel slightly abrupt. For example, the jump from discussing transportation costs to the conclusion of the second paragraph could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'those items') is always precise will help improve the overall flow and cohesion of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'authentic', 'traditional methods', and 'GDP'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'goods prices are very less' should be 'prices are much lower', and 'help promotes' should be 'helps to promote'. Additionally, some phrasing is repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'budget-friendly' and 'produced'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and ensure that your collocations are natural and grammatically sound.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'company used tradition methods' instead of 'the company uses traditional methods') and article usage. Some sentences are also slightly awkward, such as 'The main reason of buying goods... is cheaper and affordable'. To achieve a higher score, focus on ensuring that your complex sentences are error-free and pay closer attention to verb tenses and pluralization, which are currently causing minor but noticeable issues.
