Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this contemporary era, shopping has become very popular among people due to this whenever they see any new product in the market they try to purchase it as soon as possible, Now a days, most of the consumer give more preference to buy those products they are made in their local areas as compared to bringing them from other countries to sell in the market. Here I would like to shed some light on it in the upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with, there are a lot of reasons related to goods which people love to buy from local areas as compared to imported products. Firstly, good quality of products. To be more clear, more and more people believe that the products that are made in their local areas are of good quality because they give preference to buy that product from their friends or relative shops because they think that they can easily trust on them to purchase thing. For instance- If I talk about my father he always love to buy furniture for home such as tables, chairs, beds along with almirahs from my own uncle shop because they made these products with best quality of wood due to this my father always visit their shop whenever they made any new product. Another reason is, cheap prices of the products. To extend it more, some of the product are at less prices when those are made in local areas as compared to imported goods because when salesman import the product from different places to sell them in their areas they have to pay more and achieve less profit from them because some people are not affortable to buy them with higher prices . Hence, individuals give importance to look on local areas shops to buy product within their range.
In my opinion, it is positive trend because when people know the proper information about the product they can easily buy it and get refund back if something is not working properly within grauntie time period. Additionally, it also create good bonds with the buyer and salesman which will develop their strength.
In conclusion, getting products from local stores is a good idea for people because they can easily trust on each other on the behalf of things along with this it a positive trend because they can get their money if the product is not working properly during the given time period.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for buying local and the opinion on whether it is a positive trend. The ideas are relevant, such as trust in local vendors and price considerations. However, the development is somewhat limited and repetitive. The explanation regarding 'cheap prices' is slightly contradictory, as local goods are often more expensive than mass-produced imports. The position is clear, but the arguments could be more sophisticated and better supported with broader examples rather than just personal anecdotes about family members. To reach a higher band, ensure that the reasoning is more logically sound and covers a wider perspective beyond personal shopping habits.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is a logical progression from the introduction to the reasons and finally the opinion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'To begin with', 'To be more clear', 'To extend it more'). Some transitions are awkward, such as 'due to this' used multiple times in a way that does not always connect ideas smoothly. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and better sentence-to-sentence cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'not affortable' instead of 'cannot afford', and 'grauntie' instead of 'guarantee'. The repetition of basic words like 'products', 'buy', and 'local' limits the lexical score. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated vocabulary or idiomatic expressions prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on synonyms and more precise collocations would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'most of the consumer give'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and misuse of commas. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors indicates a lack of control over more complex structures. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed correctly.
