Student answer (Band 6.0)
In modern era, people are much aware about the pros and cons of product before buying it. There has been an ongoing debate that a number of individuals prefer to shop from the local markets as compared to buying imported products. A significant number of people consider this development as positive. Although, some people believe this trend as negative. This essay will discuss both the shades before a brief conclusion.
The primary argument by the citizens those who believe that buying goods from local sellers can cause a positive change in the society. In other words, people thought if they consume local produced products that will be advantageous for economy of the countries. Moreso, it provides job opportunities in the country. For example, more labor is required to produce goods and it will be helpful for the economy as it reduce the unemployment rate of the country.
On the other hand, those who consider this trend as negative they have their own argument. They believe if imported goods are better is quality as compare to local products. This is because of the availability of different resources in different nations, buyers can get quality product at cheap price. For instance, India is famous for agricultural land and quality of rice produced in India is best as compared to the other countries. Consequently, if consumers can buy imported good at low prices and in good quality.
In conclusion, both trends have merits and demerits but merits outweigh its demerits. I believe that if people buy goods produced in their local area that will be beneficial for every sector for sector and leads to growth of the country. Furthermore, producers get motivation and they will try their best to produce quality products.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and the evaluation of the trend. However, the development is somewhat superficial. While you mention economic benefits and job creation, these points could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis. The conclusion clearly states your position, but the essay structure is slightly repetitive in its phrasing. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more detailed explanation of the 'why' behind your arguments rather than just stating them. Overall, the response is relevant and covers all requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'In other words', 'Moreso', and 'On the other hand'. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly misused, such as 'Although, some people believe this trend as negative' at the end of the introduction, which is a sentence fragment. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'both the shades', which is not a standard idiomatic expression. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'imported products', 'unemployment rate', and 'agricultural land'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'In modern era' (missing an article) and 'both the shades' (incorrect collocation). Some vocabulary is repetitive, and there is a lack of more sophisticated or precise academic language. To reach a higher band, focus on using more varied collocations and ensuring that your word choices are natural and contextually appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the economy of the countries'), subject-verb agreement ('people thought if they consume'), and sentence fragments. For example, the sentence 'Consequently, if consumers can buy imported good at low prices and in good quality' is an incomplete thought. These errors do not generally impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, especially regarding articles and sentence completeness.
