In the modern world, when the question regarding buying goods is discussed, there are contradictory views. Some shopkeepers prefer to buy goods that are locally produced compared to imported ones. Reasons behind it along with its positive or negative aspects are discussed in the following paragraphs.
There are several reasons that affects buyers and encourage them to choose items from local area over the imported. Firstly, local items would be cheaper than foreign goods. This is because localist do not need to pay extra delivery fees or custom charges which makes their item cheaper than outsiders. As a result, purchasers try to save money after buying it over imported goods. Moreover, They can do bargain and get better quality in the same price of imported item. For instance, a local individuals know about the market very well so they can do bargain easily and get high quality in lower price.
Although this trend leads to some negative aspects like limited options, there are several positive effects of this trend. The first and foremost is, it encourages local brands. If people buy more items that produced by local area, number of employment can increase which leads to development of area. As a result, it plays an essential role in the development of country too. Above example vividly illustrates that buying local area products is positive trend.
In conclusion, buyers prefer to purchase locally made products than imported goods because of the cheaper price and better quality. Moreover, it is positive trend

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for buying local and the evaluation of the trend. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'bargaining' is a bit simplistic and not universally applicable to all 'local' goods. While the economic benefits (employment) are mentioned, the explanation could be more sophisticated to reach a higher band. The conclusion is also quite abrupt and lacks a summary of the main points, which affects the overall task completion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' are used to link sentences. However, some transitions are mechanical, and there are issues with referencing; for example, 'They can do bargain' lacks a clear antecedent for 'They'. Additionally, the final sentence is incomplete, which disrupts the flow of the conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by varying the linking phrases.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'goods', 'items', and 'local'. Phrases such as 'localist' (incorrect word choice) and 'do bargain' (unnatural collocation) indicate a limited control of word formation and idiomatic usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the student relies on simple vocabulary and struggles to incorporate less common lexical items effectively. To improve, the student should focus on learning collocations and more precise terminology related to economics and consumer behavior.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but errors are frequent. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'reasons that affects', 'local items would be cheaper') and article usage (e.g., 'development of area', 'development of country'). Some sentences are grammatically awkward, such as 'If people buy more items that produced by local area'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to lower the score. A greater focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy is recommended.
