Student answer (Band 5.5)

Most of the customers are choosing to purchase goods that are manufractured in their local living hood, rather then imported goods. I believe that this is a positive trend. In this eassay I will mention supporting facts about this trend.

First and foremost reason, Many customer wants that their local manufracturer needs support for high net value and also increase their sales when more and more people tent to buy from local producers. Second reason is that buying from local producer can save lot of time rather than depend on abroad product. Importing a product or services from different places can be long and complex process and people wasted thier valuable time.

Last but not least, Importing goods and service from abroad cosuming lots of fuel and preventing pollution in the air. For example, people importing furniture by ship or by air cargo can use lots of fuel and as a result air will be polluted not only this people giving six to seven times higher prices than locally produce.

In conclusion, depending on local manufracturer for goods rather than import from different region is a positive trend. That also save fuel, money and most Important is they can support their local producer rather than foreign producer.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and expressing a clear position. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which limits the depth of the arguments. The ideas provided—supporting local manufacturers, saving time, and environmental benefits—are relevant but remain underdeveloped. The lack of sufficient word count prevents a full exploration of the topic, leading to a superficial treatment of the issues. To improve, you must expand your supporting points with more detailed explanations and specific examples to meet the length requirement and demonstrate a more thorough engagement with the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Second reason', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the logical progression is hindered by the brevity of the content. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between ideas could be smoother. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph develops a single, clear idea that connects logically to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'manufractured' (manufactured), 'eassay' (essay), and 'cosuming' (consuming). Additionally, some word choices are awkward or non-standard, such as 'local living hood' and 'abroad product'. While the meaning is generally clear, the limited range of vocabulary and the frequency of spelling errors restrict the score. You should focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic terms and expanding your repertoire of topic-specific vocabulary related to economics and the environment.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they often contain grammatical errors, such as 'Many customer wants that their local manufracturer needs support' and 'people wasted thier valuable time'. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage. The frequency of these errors, combined with the limited variety of sentence structures, indicates a need for more practice with complex grammatical forms and proofreading for basic errors. Focusing on sentence variety and ensuring subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your accuracy and overall control.
