Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argues that nowadays more people choose to purchase products that are manufacturer in their local town, instead of the product that are brought from another country to be sold. This essay will discuss the main reasons behind this preference and argue that it is a positive trend overall.

Considering the reasons, imported manufacturing product are too expensive. This is beacause, It has standard packing and more focus on quality rather than budget, while local goods are packed in simple and budget friendly. Moreover, Imported product are less demanding in india as less people likes to follow luxurious lifestyle, while they prefer to buy local products by considering their income and expenses. For example, one imported perfume costing more than 20k as it is more popular foreign brand while local company selling similar scent in 5k. People think that ine perfume 20k is not worth if I am getting same thing in 5k as a local production.

There many points to be noted as it is a positive development, first of all, buying goods from local production and manufacturer in our own country has a big contribution towards countrys growing economy and families who is in needs with money by doing hardwork. Furthermore, products from our local area is manudfactured by considering needs and demand in our own country so that people will not get addicted to foreign product and follows our culture. For example, cloths from western country are manufactured by considering their culture and traditions while in india mostly selling traditional dresses as people needs here are taditional and selling fast.

Overall, purchasing goods from local manufacturer is positive development as it support our country economy and local businesses to grow with good opportunities without any migration. People in future still follows our traditions rather than buying foreign cultural products

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the opinion on whether it is positive. The ideas are relevant, such as cost-effectiveness and economic growth. However, the development is somewhat limited by the informal tone and repetitive phrasing. The arguments are clear, but the supporting examples, such as the perfume comparison, are a bit simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced analysis and ensure that the link between the reasons and the overall trend is more sophisticatedly integrated throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic attempt to use cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'Overall'. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. For instance, the transition between the reasons and the positive aspects could be smoother. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the use of cohesive devices is occasionally repetitive. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that sentences within paragraphs flow more naturally would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'manufacturer' instead of 'manufactured' and 'demanding' instead of 'in demand'. The repetition of basic terms like 'goods', 'products', and 'local' limits the lexical variety. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated collocations and precise terminology prevents a higher score. Focusing on learning synonyms and context-appropriate word forms will help you express your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('product are', 'people likes'), article usage, and incorrect word forms ('it is often argues'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and comma placement. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, you should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that verb tenses are used consistently throughout your paragraphs.
