Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt (reasons and opinion), but the development is insufficient. The essay is under the 250-word minimum, which significantly impacts the depth of the arguments. While you mention quality and economic benefits, these points are not fully extended with specific examples or detailed explanations. Furthermore, the essay ends abruptly mid-sentence ('government should motivate people to purchase the'), indicating an incomplete response. To improve, you must ensure all parts of the prompt are fully explored and that the essay meets the minimum length requirement to allow for adequate development of ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'To commence of', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore' to link ideas. However, the progression is sometimes mechanical, and the paragraphing is problematic. The final paragraph is very brief, and the abrupt ending disrupts the overall flow and logical structure of the argument. While the central ideas are generally identifiable, the lack of a complete conclusion and the underdeveloped body paragraphs make the overall organization feel disjointed. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would improve the coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on repetitive phrasing such as 'local products' and 'foreign items'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'more cheaper' (which is grammatically incorrect as 'cheaper' is already comparative) and 'local marketing' used in a context where 'local production' or 'local industry' would be more accurate. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated synonyms and ensuring correct word forms in comparative structures.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'To commence of' (incorrect preposition), 'one of the best way' (should be 'ways'), and 'more cheaper' (double comparative). Additionally, there are issues with subject-verb agreement and incomplete sentences, such as 'there will be more innovation should be possible'. The punctuation is generally functional, but the grammatical control is inconsistent. Focusing on basic sentence construction and avoiding double comparatives will help improve your accuracy.
