Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the contemporary era, people are more interested in buying products that are produced locally instead of imported products. This essay will not only examine the causes of this trend but also will explain why I believe it is a positive trend.
The prominent reason is, prices. Imported product cost much as compared to local products. People are getting more aware about things because they do not want to waste their money to buy imported products , which they can get cheaper from local area. They also can save money which they will spend to import products because it include, shipping charges, country tax and so on. Apart from this, local products are made according to environment and weather of specific area. For instance, clothes made in India are suitable for Indian temperature they are able to tolerate harsh summer. Consequently, people start purchasing product from local markets.
It is a positive trend because it brings various benefits, the first and foremost is, boost GDP. If people start buying products from local area where it produced, it will help to boost the economy of nation and country will not have to pay to international companies . Government can use this money to open up new business for local people which can increase the number of employment rate, with the help of it people can easily fulfil their needs. As a result, unemployment will be low.
To recapitulate, there are various reasons why people's preferences are changed from imported products to local products , I believe it is positive trend and will help to increase the country's GDP .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and the opinion on whether it is a positive trend. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding environmental suitability is a good point, but it could be expanded with more depth. The explanation of economic benefits is relevant but relies on somewhat simplistic reasoning. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced examples and ensure that the link between your points and the overall argument is more robustly established.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'Apart from this', 'As a result'). Additionally, some transitions between sentences are abrupt, which affects the flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'with the help of it') is more precise would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'GDP', 'imported products', and 'employment rate'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of awkward phrasing or word choice, such as 'people are getting more aware about things' or 'it include, shipping charges'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you express your ideas with greater precision and style.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Imported product cost much'), article usage, and punctuation (e.g., unnecessary commas before 'prices' or 'it include'). These errors do not impede communication, but they are noticeable. To achieve a higher score, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and try to vary your sentence structures more intentionally, ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with greater precision.
