Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is irrefutable that in the modern era, shopping habits among people are rising day by day. However, few consumers prefer to purchase local brands instead of buying imported products. There are numerous reasons for this notion, and it is a negative trend. I will explain my point of view in upcoming paragraphs.
Convincing arguments can be made that there are plenty of reasons why individuals like to buy local products. To start with, some people believe that local brands are much better than imported ones. In other words, that products are budget-friendly and easy to buy for everyone. For instance, sometimes branded products are expensive, so it is hard for everyone to buy even if they need that one. It can also be claimed that masses are more familiar with local brands and it is easy to use for them.
Admittedly, there are some negative impacts of using local brands. Firstly, nowadays most of the people are earning handsome salaries for fulfilling their desires. But if they use local goods, then they are always away from other cultures' products, which are essential to use. As a result, they cannot get information about other brands and how to use them as well. Last but not least, it has a bad impact on the economy's growth also. If masses do not use imported brands, then the business of import and export will be decline and going towards loss which is the negative effect on the economy and the business man.
To recapitulate, it can also seem that there is some substantial evidence to prove my view better. I would strongly recommended that there are some reasons and also have some negative impacts to the people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for buying local and expressing a clear position that it is a negative trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the argument that local goods prevent people from learning about other cultures is a bit tenuous and lacks sufficient explanation. Similarly, the economic argument regarding import/export decline is stated but not fully explored. To improve, you should provide more concrete examples or deeper analysis to support your claims. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not effectively summarise the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To start with', 'In other words', and 'Admittedly' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel forced. For instance, the transition in the final paragraph is weak, as it does not effectively synthesise the arguments presented. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as the use of 'that one' in the second paragraph, which lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the variety and naturalness of your linking words will help the progression of your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'budget-friendly', 'imported products', and 'economy's growth'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of awkward word choice or collocation, such as 'masses are more familiar' and 'business of import and export will be decline'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more precise, topic-specific vocabulary and demonstrate a better grasp of collocations. Avoid repetitive phrasing and try to use more sophisticated synonyms for common words like 'good' or 'bad'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'it is hard for everyone to buy even if they need that one', 'most of the people are earning', and 'business of import and export will be decline and going towards loss'. There are also issues with article usage and verb tense consistency. While these errors do not typically impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive voice would be beneficial.
