Student answer (Band 5.5)
nowadays customers are widely selecting to purchase products from local are instead of exported goods beacause buying it easier in short times and convenient for local people. From my perspective this is a positive development as it brings benefits to local residence.
One major reason is for this, from local shops the goods they selling are not only organic and preserve with special care, but it is easy to access. For instance, person who resides near local shop can visit these stores to walking distance by this, they do not even have to pay for transit and in local market it is mostly fresh goods available. besides this, imported goods from other countries can be expensive for the individuals. which can be hectic to return if it is damage or not meeting customers expectations. It is also true that, exporting goods can be detrimental for environment as the transporation release harmful chemical in the air such as carbon dioxide, For example, if person orders their packages from London, it will require lot of packing which cause harmful to surrounding.
Furthermore, local area shopping creates job market for the people who really needed and can help to customers. For example, while buying from local shops can demanding more people to manage their stores because of more and more people tend to buy from this people therefore, It is not only helpful to create job but it is useful for the local market owners as they gain customers support.
In conclusion, more and more people purchasing from local market is a positive development as it creates job market and support to communities. this can lead to reducing in environment issues.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and the opinion on whether it is a positive trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding job creation is repetitive and lacks specific, concrete evidence. While the position is clear from the introduction, the supporting points are often under-developed, relying on general statements rather than deep analysis. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your points with more detailed explanations and specific, real-world examples rather than hypothetical scenarios.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'besides this' and 'for instance' are used, but the flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between 'transporation' and 'harmful chemical' is a bit disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the logical progression of your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'exported goods' instead of 'imported goods', 'residence' instead of 'residents', and 'walking distance' used incorrectly in the context of 'visit these stores to walking distance'. Spelling errors, such as 'beacause' and 'transporation', also occur. To improve, you should focus on learning collocations and using more precise terminology related to economics and environmental impact, while paying closer attention to word forms and spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently marred by grammatical errors. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'goods they selling', 'it is easy to access'), missing articles, and incorrect preposition usage. Punctuation is also problematic, with several run-on sentences and misused commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits the score. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralisation and verb tense consistency.
