Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often said that local community has been showing support to their area people by buying products from their local store. I will discuss the reasons behind this development and give my opinion.
First of all, because of globalization, customers can buy various of products from anywhere using online e-commerce website. These products are more expensive than local items as there are some import duties on it. Because of that, people try to buy products from local vendors. They are not just contributing to the economy of country but also helping their neighbors to grow their businesses. For example, recently in my country, individuals try to follow the quote "use of Make In India products More". studies have shown that because of this implementation, the growth of country's economy has shown uptrend which is better for our future. Secondly, when someone buys product from any local store, they have more trust in local products than imported goods. Because, recently we have found out that Chinese products are not safe for use due to security concerns.
Apart from this, People will get motivation to work hard and produce new products as more numbers of individual start buying only local products. As a results, the Unemployment rate will decrease as there will more job vacancies for different level roles in industries of local goods manufacturing. Moreover, government is likely to invest more in research of futuristic products. For example, recently government of Gujarat has established world's biggest AI Robotic research center to experiment new products there.
In conclusion, This trend is mostly positive as there are numerous reasons which i mentioned above. Although some people prefer to buy imported cheap products, It's definitely beneficial for our country's growth If we buy local produced goods from our areas.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the writer's opinion on whether it is positive or negative. The ideas are relevant, such as economic growth and trust in product safety. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the link between local shopping and the establishment of an AI research center in Gujarat is a bit tenuous and lacks a clear logical connection to the main argument. While the position is clear throughout, the support for the arguments could be more detailed and better connected to the broader economic context to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First of all', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'As a results'. Referencing is generally clear, but the connection between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall progression of ideas. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the reasons from the conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'globalization', 'e-commerce', and 'implementation'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'various of products' (should be 'a variety of products') and 'shown uptrend' (should be 'shown an upward trend'). The range is sufficient to communicate, but lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the growth of country's economy'), pluralization ('As a results'), and verb forms ('individuals try to follow the quote'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some unnecessary capitalization and comma usage issues. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the essay from reaching the 7.0 band, where a higher frequency of error-free sentences is expected.
