Student answer (Band 6.0)

Due to globalization, transporting goods on international market has become piece of cake. Although, people have a tendency to consume locally produce goods instead of relying on imported ones. I, albeit, believe that the phenomenon has several reasons to be discussed, with some pros and cons.

On the one hand, it is undeniable that global exposure has made it possible to experience varieties of products in the local market. Therefore, citizens are more likely to purchase products which are manufactured in their own country including garments, food products, furnitures and so on. It occurs due to its convenient, affordability and durability.

On the positive side, it has been observed that buying a local goods can contribute to the amelioration of other aspects such as employment and rapid growth on industrialisation. Likewise, if citizens are willing to utilize local things then it can create more job opportunities for the individuals. In India, the demand of febrics, for example, is threefold as compared to other nations, which requires white-collars to takeover the production. Similarly, more industries have been expanded in terms of procuring basic needs. Agriculture industry would be benefited by selling fresh products in the market.

Conversely, the downside of this trend cannot be overlooked. the rapid emergence of such a trend can lead to weak rapport with overseas vendors. In consequence, countries may not provide assistance on emergency situations. Moreover, the native people may neglected to launch their products on international level. In result of, they may deprive to earn huge profit from global market.

To recapitulate, after carefully considering aforementioned points, I concur that balanced approach should be accounted to avoid any adverse effects.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While you provide reasons such as affordability and employment growth, the explanation of the negative aspects is less clear. For instance, the claim that countries may not provide assistance in emergencies due to a lack of local goods is not logically sound or well-supported. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are fully extended with logical reasoning and clear examples. Your position is clear throughout, but the depth of analysis needs to be more consistent across all paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'Conversely,' and 'To recapitulate' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or misused, such as 'In result of,' which is grammatically incorrect. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the fourth paragraph where the connection between local production and international emergency assistance is tenuous. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the flow of your writing feel more natural and sophisticated.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'globalization,' 'amelioration,' and 'industrialisation.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'piece of cake' (too informal for an essay), 'locally produce goods' (should be 'produced'), and 'native people may neglected' (should be 'neglect'). Some phrasing is also non-standard, such as 'white-collars to takeover the production.' To improve, focus on using vocabulary that is appropriate for a formal academic context and ensure that word forms are used correctly in their specific contexts.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'furnitures' (uncountable noun), 'buying a local goods' (article error), and 'they may deprive to earn' (incorrect passive/active voice). There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and preposition usage, such as 'demand of febrics' (should be 'for') and 'In result of.' While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb and article agreement would be highly beneficial.
