Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the contemporary era, customers love to buy the daily basis things those are make by their local people instead of international things. There are so many reasons why individuals follow this trend. However, i believe it has more positive impact on the nation and local people.
On the one hand, there are numerous reasons why consumers like to buy local things. Firstly, they can take anything safely at their home without any scratch and damaging that things. For instance, if the buy any product those are imported, that things may be damaged. Because every product imported by ships and they have to change the places of the product whenever they have to change the transport mode. Secondly, these days people do not have patience so they want everything quickly instead of waiting. So they think its better to go local shops and buy those goods.
On the other hand, this trend have more pros rather than cons.
This trend help local people and government to increase their economy. If local products value is increased and customers buy more and more local goods than local industries needs more employers to increase their productivity. So, people have more job options.
In conclusion, this trend has positive points for local people and government, but it has also negative impact on relations with international countries, because import and export build good relation between countries.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and expressing a position on whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is limited. The reasons provided—product safety and convenience—are somewhat superficial and lack depth. Furthermore, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which restricts the ability to fully develop arguments. The conclusion mentions a negative impact on international relations, but this is not explored in the body paragraphs, leading to an imbalance in the discussion. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'On the other hand' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the logical progression within paragraphs is hindered by the limited development of ideas. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'that things' or 'those goods', which makes the text feel repetitive. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that each sentence logically builds upon the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use simple terms like 'things', 'good', and 'buy'. There is little evidence of less common lexical items or precise collocations. For example, 'daily basis things' is an awkward construction, and 'local people' is used repeatedly where more specific terms like 'local producers' or 'domestic manufacturers' would be more appropriate. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary related to economics and trade, and focus on using more precise nouns and adjectives to convey your meaning more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'this trend have', 'local industries needs') and incorrect pluralization (e.g., 'every product imported by ships'). There are also issues with article usage and word order, such as 'take anything safely at their home'. While the meaning is generally understandable, these recurring errors demonstrate a lack of control over complex structures. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and plural forms would significantly improve your accuracy.
