Student answer (Band 6.5)
In recent years, it has been noticed that some customers are choosing to purchase products from local sellers instead of internationally produced goods. I believe that this trend leads to a postive development in the society. The following paragraphs will discuss the reasons responsible for this trend and will also explain my perspective.
There are a significant factors responsible for this approach. The primary one is that locally produced items are cheap. This is because they are manufactured and prooduced by the local people and avoid shipping charges. Therefore, they are available on low prices. Another major factor is that they are readily available to customers. Whereas, imported items become out of stock and cause a lot inconvenience to the consumers. As a result, customers choose to buy goods which are manufactured at their place to avoid long wait times. In addition to this, local sellers build a trusting relationships with their customers over time by providing good high quality of products and excellent customer service. Therefore , people hesitant to buy products of international companies.
This trend leads to a positive development because it brings numerous advanatges to the local shopkeepers. Due to advent of online shopping people order things using online shopping platforms. As a result , local sellers are facing challenges to increase sale of their products and to earn a good income. Therefore, this change is very useful for them as it creates various employment opportunities. For example, local farmers can produce their own goods and sell them on good prices. Moreover, increased demand of imported goods cause a rise in the prices of several goods. This is becuase these products have high import and export charges. As a result, they become unafforadable for some individuals to purchase them. Therefore, this trend brings various benefits for the consumers as well as for the sellers.
In conclusion, after a careful consideration of the reasons mentioned above, I strongly believe that locally produced produts are cheap and convienet for people and gives numerours benefits to everyone.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the trend and the writer's opinion on whether it is positive. The position is clear throughout. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed. For instance, the argument that local goods are 'cheap' because they avoid shipping is a good point, but the explanation regarding why imported goods are 'out of stock' is a bit simplistic and lacks nuance. The essay covers all requirements, but the depth of analysis could be improved to reach higher bands by providing more specific examples or exploring the economic implications in greater detail.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs. There is a progression of ideas from the introduction to the reasons, the evaluation of the trend, and the conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'The primary one', 'Another major factor', and 'In addition to this' are used to link ideas. However, there are some mechanical uses of transitions, and the referencing is occasionally slightly awkward, such as in the sentence 'Whereas, imported items become out of stock'. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and the flow is generally easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task. The student uses some topic-specific terms like 'shipping charges', 'employment opportunities', and 'international companies'. However, there are several spelling errors (e.g., 'postive', 'prooduced', 'advanatges', 'unafforadable', 'convienet') and some minor collocation issues, such as 'good high quality of products'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a wider range of precise lexical items to move into the higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('increased demand... cause a rise') and punctuation errors, particularly with comma placement before conjunctions. Some sentences are slightly clunky, such as 'people hesitant to buy products'. While the meaning is always clear and the errors do not cause difficulty for the reader, the frequency of these slips prevents the response from reaching a higher band. More attention to verb forms and sentence construction is recommended.
