Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and whether this is a positive or negative trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the explanation of 'economic support' is repetitive, and the argument regarding environmental impact lacks depth. While the position is clear, the supporting examples, such as the reference to '70% of people', feel anecdotal and lack a strong analytical connection to the broader economic or social implications. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your points with more sophisticated reasoning rather than repeating the same concepts in different words.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'In details, they prefer to buy local products so indirectly reduced carbon footprints.' Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'this', 'these') is used more precisely would enhance the overall cohesion of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive terms like 'good', 'buy', and 'products'. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'make money with the community' (instead of 'support the local economy') and 'the effects observing that are' (which is grammatically and lexically awkward). To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to economics and sustainability, and focus on using words in their correct collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('it boost', 'it support'), incorrect preposition usage ('among of them'), and awkward sentence construction ('people push themselves for buy local products'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
