Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 94 words. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. The essay introduces the topic and begins to outline reasons, but it fails to complete the argument or provide a clear opinion on whether the trend is positive or negative. Because the response is incomplete and lacks the necessary development of ideas required for a full essay, it does not meet the criteria for a higher band score. To improve, you must ensure you address all parts of the prompt and provide sufficient supporting details to meet the minimum length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response shows some attempt at logical organization, using a transition phrase 'To commence with' to start the first body paragraph. However, the text is too brief to demonstrate a clear overall progression or effective paragraphing. The abrupt ending and lack of a concluding paragraph mean that the structure is incomplete. Cohesive devices are limited, and the flow is interrupted by the unfinished nature of the writing. To improve, focus on structuring your essay with a clear introduction, distinct body paragraphs for each point, and a summary conclusion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'huge type of variety' and 'stuffs' are imprecise and informal. There is a lack of academic vocabulary that would be expected in an IELTS task. While the meaning is generally clear, the range is very limited, which prevents the expression of more complex ideas. To improve, try to use more precise nouns and academic collocations, and avoid informal or colloquial terms like 'stuffs' or 'trustable'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The text contains several grammatical errors, such as 'In commercial market' (missing article), 'huge type of variety' (awkward phrasing), and 'there are no one' (subject-verb agreement). The sentence structures are relatively simple, and there is a lack of complex grammatical forms. While the errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct article usage and subject-verb agreement, before attempting more complex structures.
