Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and expressing a positive view. However, the essay is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of development. The ideas, such as cost-saving and GDP growth, are introduced but lack sufficient elaboration to reach a higher band. The conclusion is very brief and does not effectively summarize the main points. Because the response is under-length, it fails to fully develop the arguments, resulting in a lower score for task achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay uses basic paragraphing and some cohesive devices like 'First and the foremost' and 'Secondly'. However, the flow is often disjointed due to grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. The use of linking words is sometimes mechanical or misused, such as 'Regarding to the reasons'. The progression of ideas is present but lacks sophistication, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, making the overall structure feel somewhat fragmented.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. The student relies on basic terms like 'thing', 'goods', and 'reasons'. There are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'outside of contury' and 'strengtha its GDP'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the range is insufficient to discuss the topic with precision or flexibility. The vocabulary is adequate for basic communication but lacks the variety required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with articles, subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. For example, 'the price of thing is less' and 'the country can strengtha its GDP'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with fragments and run-on sentences. While the student attempts some complex structures, they are often faulty. The high frequency of errors occasionally causes difficulty for the reader, though the core message remains understandable.
