Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, which severely limits the development of ideas. While you attempt to address the reasons for buying local goods, the second part of the prompt regarding whether this is a positive or negative trend is left largely unaddressed due to the incomplete nature of the essay. The ideas presented, such as economic benefits and availability, are mentioned but lack the necessary supporting evidence or examples to meet the requirements of a full essay. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words and provide a balanced, fully developed argument for each part of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows a basic attempt at paragraphing, but the abrupt ending makes it impossible to assess the overall logical progression. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'On the other side', which helps the reader follow the initial points. However, because the text is incomplete and lacks a conclusion, the overall structure is fragmented. To improve, focus on linking your ideas more fluidly and ensure that every paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by supporting details, leading to a coherent conclusion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is quite limited and contains several inaccuracies. For example, you use 'in house manufacture products' instead of 'locally manufactured products' and 'important products' when you likely meant 'imported products'. These errors occasionally make it difficult for the reader to understand your intended meaning. You rely on simple, repetitive language throughout the text. To achieve a higher band score, you should work on using more precise terminology related to economics and trade, and focus on correct word choice and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'all country is faced this problem' (should be 'all countries face this problem') and 'it support local economy' (should be 'it supports the local economy'). The sentence structures are simple and often lack correct subject-verb agreement. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. To improve, you need to practice basic sentence construction, ensure subject-verb agreement, and work on using a wider variety of complex sentence structures while maintaining accuracy.
