Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for buying local and the evaluation of the trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding 'convenience' is not fully explained, and the mention of specific brands like 'Walmart' is slightly confusing as these are often large international chains rather than strictly 'local' businesses. The position is clear, but the supporting points lack depth and specific examples that would elevate the response to a higher band. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and ensure your examples clearly support the 'local' aspect of the argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'Lastly', and 'Moreover'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some transitions feel forced. For instance, the transition 'Moreover, It is a plus point...' does not effectively link to the previous paragraph's focus on local economy. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as the phrase 'even though which is not available in other market' in the conclusion, which makes the final sentence difficult to follow. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'buys' instead of 'buyers' or 'consumers', and 'local zone' instead of 'local area'. Phrases like 'healthy things' and 'packed food' are quite simplistic. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the range is limited, and there are occasional errors in word formation and collocation that slightly hinder the sophistication of the writing. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise terminology and idiomatic expressions related to economics and consumer behavior.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include incorrect article usage ('the local market economy'), subject-verb agreement ('buys are choosing'), and awkward phrasing ('no meaning to going out'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences starting with lowercase letters after a period or having misplaced commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, these recurring errors demonstrate a lack of control over complex structures. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and practicing the correct use of articles and prepositions.
