Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's globalization world, for increasing business vendors do agreement with each other at state level or international level. Nowadays, it is essential businessman make stronger relationship with each other and importing-exporting goods on base of agreement. However, many customers now preferred to purchase local product instead of importing goods. In this essay, I will explain reasons for this and i will give my perspective about whether it is positive or negative trends.

The primary reason is money. Importing products are more expensive than the local one. Because there are many duties have to pay by vendors so they sell that product with high price to customers. For example, in my area green apples are very expensive because it is importing from Mexico country. As a result, people like to buy local red apples rather spent too much amount of money on green apple. Another reason is buying local things help to boost economy of our own country.

In my perspective, it is positive trend and presently everyone is follow that. Even In my country, government also encourage public to buy local things. For instance, In India, government start the program which called "Swadesh" in that authorities imparting knowledge to community about important of choosing local goods and it was successful event. It is beneficial for consumer it is tax free so they can save a lot of money and also it is help to growth of local businesses which is indirectly raise GDP of own country. So, it is profitable for government, citizen and for business owners.

In conclusion, because of this lot of advantages this trends is going on surrounding the world and it has positive impact overall.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local goods and the opinion on whether this is a positive or negative trend. The ideas are relevant, such as cost-effectiveness and economic growth. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For example, the explanation of why imported goods are more expensive is a bit simplistic, and the discussion on the 'Swadesh' program, while a good attempt at an example, lacks depth. The position is clear throughout, but the overall development of ideas could be more sophisticated to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There is a clear progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'Another reason is', 'In my perspective', 'In conclusion'). Additionally, there are instances where referencing is slightly unclear or awkward, such as 'this trends is going on surrounding the world'. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and better referencing to connect ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. There are several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'globalization world', 'businessman make stronger relationship', and 'imparting knowledge to community about important of choosing'. These errors do not impede communication, but they demonstrate a limited range of vocabulary. To improve, you should focus on using more precise terminology related to economics and trade, and work on collocations to ensure your writing sounds more natural and professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('government start the program', 'everyone is follow'), article usage ('the government', 'a positive trend'), and word form errors ('it is importing from Mexico'). While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. You need to focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with verb tenses, articles, and pluralization, to ensure your writing is more polished and error-free.
