Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for choosing local goods and the evaluation of the trend. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention cost and employment, the arguments could be more thoroughly extended with deeper analysis or more nuanced examples. For instance, the example regarding the Chinese government is a bit vague and could be better integrated to support the economic argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully explored rather than just stated, providing a more comprehensive explanation of the 'why' and 'how' behind your claims.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'In other words', and 'In conclusion', which help the reader follow your argument. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally slightly unclear, such as in the second paragraph where 'that good' lacks a specific antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their intended nouns would enhance the flow and cohesion of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'merchandise', 'cost effectiveness', and 'home-grown'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'making charges' instead of 'production costs' and 'very cheaper price' instead of 'a much lower price'. There is also a tendency to repeat basic vocabulary. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition. Expanding your range to include more academic or topic-specific vocabulary would help you move into the higher band categories.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the economy of country'), verb forms ('it can offers'), and prepositions ('despite of using'). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'higher amount of people avoid to buy'. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
