Student answer (Band 6.0)
There are number of people who believes that consuming their local products are beneficial to their city and country. Whereas, buying an imported products ruins their appetite and local economy.
One of the significant reason for considering the locally available goods is that it supports the economy of their country. People often gets adapted to what they are getting locally, as they spent majority of their life in those areas. Other benefits are like there will be no shortage of such locally available products. And because many consumer are now trying to make everything available in their local area, reducing the popularity of imported goods. Furthermore, the popularity of their local porducts will increase and it's rate throughout the world which will eventually benefits their economy.
On the other side, the price of imported porducts are much higher then the locally available goods. This creates difficulty for the comman consumer to buy such high cost products. Only in certain areas of the country these imported products could benefit, where there are shortage of local stores. Also there will be plenty of products imported from different parts of th world because of their unavailability in local areas. For instance, apples are not grown in Gujarat due to different climate. In such cases, imported goods will be used by the consumer.
However, the number of consumers are opting to purchase the locally available products is increasing from time to time. It will lead to the increase in local's economy. To conclude, while there are more benefits of consumer choosing to purchase locally available products compare to those imported products, I believe that this is a positive trend.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for choosing local goods and the evaluation of the trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument that buying local 'ruins their appetite' is unclear and lacks logical support. While the position is clear, the explanation of why this is a positive trend is repetitive and lacks depth. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific, well-developed examples or logical chains of reasoning rather than listing general benefits. The mention of Gujarat is a good attempt at a specific example, but the surrounding analysis remains somewhat underdeveloped.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a clear overall progression from reasons to the evaluation of the trend. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'On the other side', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as starting a sentence with 'Whereas' in the introduction, which is a fragment. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between 'local products' and 'its rate' is confusing. Paragraphing is present, but the internal flow within paragraphs could be smoother.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors, such as 'porducts' (repeated) and 'comman'. Some word choices are unnatural or imprecise, such as 'ruins their appetite' or 'it's rate throughout the world'. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to incorporate less common lexical items effectively. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to economics and trade, and ensure you proofread for basic spelling errors, which occur frequently enough to be noticeable.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You frequently make subject-verb agreement errors, such as 'There are number of people who believes' and 'People often gets adapted'. There are also issues with pluralisation and article usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently throughout the text. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. You should also aim to vary your sentence structure more intentionally, as many sentences follow a similar, simple pattern.
