Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, people would like buy so many thing from different places. Here I would like to say that in recent era, it can be observed that most of the people like to buy products from local area rather than imported good, It has been happend due to some reasons like people know and respect their country's economy, want to connect with their roots and cultures. I will give reasons along with my point of view about is is good rend or bed trend.
The fundamental reason is some individuals know about how important to help our economy when you buy from local area. To elaborate it more, when you purchase items from locally that help poor people to earn some money and we all know imported items sell with expensive price tag, although use is same. Another thing is, individuals know and has respect for their culture and their roots. Extend it more, local product give you feel about your culture and conect you with your grass roots. In 2020, I read one artical from Times Of India, and I notice Nepal's economy suddenly surpass few compatative countries, due to folk by local products.
In this topic, I would like to say that it is positive trend because, country or specific area become famos for that product, if they sell more product and local buy that product, it can improve their earning. People make their product by using local raw materials, so it can also help another local businesses in the same area. I recently read one website about sendlewood selling in tamilnadu, drastically increase because local make different product and art and sovenirs from that woods and also buy from the local farmers.
In conclusion, Folks like to buy local products due to some reasons like help economy and not so much expensive, and that trend I personally find very positive due to improve earning and encourage small local businesses.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and the opinion on whether it is a positive or negative trend. The ideas are relevant, such as supporting the local economy and cultural connection. However, the development is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation of how local products connect people to their roots is brief and could be further elaborated with more specific examples. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments lack depth, and the example regarding sandalwood in Tamil Nadu is slightly vague in its connection to the overall argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that each reason is fully explored with more detailed explanations and clearer examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices, such as 'The fundamental reason is', 'To elaborate it more', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'Extend it more' or 'In this topic'. Furthermore, there are issues with referencing and sentence-level cohesion, such as the comma splice in the first paragraph ('...imported good, It has been happend...'). The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the transitions between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'in recent era', 'folk by local products', and 'drastically increase because local make different product'. Some words are used incorrectly, such as 'compatative' (likely meaning competitive) and 'artical' (article). While the meaning is generally conveyed, the range of vocabulary is limited, and the errors in word formation and collocation are noticeable. To improve, focus on learning more precise collocations and ensuring that word forms (nouns vs. adjectives) are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('local product give you feel'), missing articles ('in 2020, I read one artical'), and incorrect verb tenses ('It has been happend'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and comma splices. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, before attempting more complex structures.
