Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, some individuals preferred to buy things which are produced in their local area instead of imported items. While there are several reasons behind this preference. I believe this is a positive trend for our society.
One of the primary reasons to buy local products is to increase the economy of our own country. This is because when people purchase things from their local area they gives an opportunity to merchants to make more goods. Moreover, it generates more employment opportunities in the local area.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under-length at only 85 words, failing to meet the 250-word minimum requirement. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. While you identify reasons for buying local and state a position, the ideas are severely underdeveloped. There is no exploration of the 'negative' side of the trend, nor are there sufficient examples or depth to support your arguments. To improve, you must expand each point with specific examples and ensure all parts of the prompt are addressed in detail.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is too short to demonstrate a full range of cohesive devices or effective paragraphing. While there is a basic attempt at logical sequencing using 'One of the primary reasons' and 'Moreover', the text ends abruptly before a conclusion or a balanced discussion can be formed. The progression of ideas is interrupted by the lack of content, making the overall structure feel incomplete and fragmented.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is functional but basic. You rely on simple phrases like 'buy things' and 'make more goods'. There is little evidence of a range of vocabulary that would allow for precise expression of complex ideas. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more topic-specific collocations related to economics, sustainability, and consumer behavior, and avoid repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are noticeable grammatical errors that affect the quality of the writing. For example, 'some individuals preferred' (tense inconsistency with 'Nowadays') and 'they gives an opportunity' (subject-verb agreement error). The sentence structures are relatively simple, and the lack of length prevents the demonstration of a wider range of complex grammatical structures. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will help improve your accuracy.
