Student answer (Band 6.0)
In todays era, the competition is tough. All businesses are trying to get profit as high as they can. The government is also perusing the consumer to expand the import from the local vendor. Buying from small entrepreneur can increase the demand of an international export and economy of countries. According to my perspective, choosing local products over the foreign maker has more advantages.
First of all, If small business from home gets chance to sell their product that can provide an opportunity to the people who are trying to make local items at home. For an example, China is ranking first in the export system as China has developed their local market where people can manufacture large numbers goods like food color, frits, vegetables, easy to cook food packages. This step has give the benefit to local to produce more and earn more. Which makes their country independent from international export.
Secondly, residents of local area gets monthly income to run their family needs, which makes them independent from poverty. Earning money can boost more confidence and health population for country.
Imported goods might be more testy but it can be not heathy as the local food products. Other foreign market uses cheap products and labor to save costing and get big profit. Whereas, local venders need to focus more on quality as they are new in market. Imported goods can be contaminated with more preservatives and chemicals to increase the life span.
To conclude, buying from local vendors is way better choice than imported goods as it can highly increase the economy and local competition by getting fair opportunity in the market.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat inconsistent. While the benefits of local production are mentioned, the explanation of why this is happening is slightly confused, particularly the claim that the government is pushing for increased imports from local vendors, which is logically contradictory. The example regarding China is also slightly off-topic, as it focuses on export success rather than the domestic consumption of local goods. To improve, ensure that your arguments are clearly linked to the specific question asked and that your examples directly support your main points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First of all', 'Secondly', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader through the argument. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. For instance, the connection between the idea of 'earning money' and 'health population' is not clearly explained, making the progression of thought feel disjointed. Improving the use of referencing and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will help achieve a higher band score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'testy' instead of 'tasty', 'perusing' instead of 'persuading', and 'health population' instead of 'healthy population'. These errors occasionally cause the reader to pause. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more sophisticated vocabulary to express complex ideas. Expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary related to economics and trade would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('residents... gets'), article usage ('the local area'), and sentence construction ('Imported goods might be more testy but it can be not heathy as the local food products'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and practice using more complex sentence structures with greater control.
