Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, consumers are largely rely to buy goods that are produced in their local area. This has attracted considerable viewpoint worldwide. Although, opinions differ on these matter, but I believe that it have various advantages to use local goods. This essay will discuss the possible advantages to buy goods from the local area, rather than imported goods.
There are various reason validate this statement. Amongst these, one of the main reason is that it open the earning door for the local shopkeepers. They can get enough money by selling the local products into the market. For instance, a local clay based toys are increasingly selling out in the local area. People are like to buy such type of toys for their children. The global economy may be raised by implementing such type of initiatives through the nation.
While, some people may think that local good creates some negative impact on the market. Imported goods have some better quality as compared to the local goods. It can not be degraded earlier than local products. For example, many foreign brands like Gucci, Prada, and many more have good sustainability property. Due to these reasons these all are promoted into our nation. But, overuse of these imported products may create some detrimental effects on the local brand.
According to me, use of local goods have to enhance by the consumer. As it build the trust on our local innovators. Some adequate innovation might be required by some brand, but once we achieve these step without any obstacle, we can create a history. There are various examples of these type of innovation. For example, Sir Ratan Tata has invented a brand "Titan" as inspired by some foreign brand.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that consumers are increasingly choosing to buy goods that are produced in their local area.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and the evaluation of the trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the explanation regarding 'earning doors' for shopkeepers is a good start but lacks depth. The discussion on imported goods is also quite brief and relies on generalizations about brand names like 'Gucci' and 'Prada' rather than exploring the broader economic or environmental implications. While a position is clear, the arguments could be more effectively extended with more sophisticated reasoning to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'Although, opinions differ on these matter, but...' contains redundant conjunctions and grammatical errors. Similarly, 'While, some people may think...' is used incorrectly at the start of a sentence. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences can feel disjointed. To improve, you should focus on using linking words more naturally and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher score. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'earning door', 'selling out', and 'good sustainability property', which are not natural collocations. There are also instances of word-choice errors, such as 'degraded earlier' when discussing product quality. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the overall range is limited, and the expression is often repetitive. Expanding your range of synonyms and learning common collocations would significantly improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the essay that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'consumers are largely rely', 'it have various advantages', 'use of local goods have to enhance') and incorrect article usage. While you attempt some complex sentence structures, they are often marred by errors in punctuation and word order. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and articles.
