Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is irrefutable that nowadays, people prefer to purchase products that are manufactured locally rather than that of other countries. Although trades between countries are crucial, I believe this to be a positive outcome, especially for developing nations. In the essay, I will discuss the reasons to buy local products and its merits.

The main reason why people are fasicated towards local products because it is affordable. Countries which rely on other nations for products have to pay heavy import duties which means the price of the commodities rises. Due to this consumers choose products that are manufactured locally. Moreover goverment also encourages their citizens to purchase locally made products and reduce the dependency on other nations. For Example Make in

India initiavite started by the prime minister of India benefits many local vendors.

This is a positive development for any nation in terms of employement. If people purchase goods from local business then there manufacturing also increases which means companies hire more people to satisfy the demand. This results creates more job opportunities. This not only help local businesses but only supports the economic development of the country. Cultural heritage is also preserved with this trend. Young people purchase locally made clothes and do not get influcence by western culture than our culture is preserved.

To summarise key points, there are more benefits to make goods with in the country and to purchase locally than to depend on other nations. This can help people in many ways and by this thinking more people nowadays purchase locally made products

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and the evaluation of the trend. The position is clear from the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of why local products are more affordable is slightly underdeveloped, and the point about cultural heritage is brief. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your examples and provide more depth to your arguments, ensuring that the link between the reasons and the positive trend is more explicitly articulated throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'For example', and 'To summarise', which help the flow. However, some transitions are mechanical, and there are instances where the connection between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the economic benefits and the cultural heritage point is abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is precise would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'irrefutable', 'commodities', and 'dependency'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'fasicated' (fascinated), 'goverment' (government), 'initiavite' (initiative), 'employement' (employment), and 'influcence' (influenced). These errors are noticeable but do not impede communication. To improve, focus on accuracy in spelling and try to incorporate more precise collocations to express your ideas with greater sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'The main reason why people are fasicated... because it is affordable' (missing 'is that'), 'This results creates' (subject-verb agreement), and 'do not get influcence by western culture than our culture is preserved' (incorrect structure). These errors occur throughout the text. Increasing the number of error-free sentences and focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage will help you achieve a higher score.
