Student answer (Band 5.0)
Most of the population are prefer to shopping in the local markets instead of go on the bigger showrooms. This statement is goes to the positive trend for people as in the upcoming paragraphs I will provide some reason for that.
First of all people choose to shopping at local markets for save their money as at the local shops they have variety of goods in the cheapest price so everyone can afford it. For example, If they go to the any specific brand showroom as they take one or two items in that shop so they are pay biggest amount is just for that brand but instead of the that if they go to the local market they can buy many of the items on that same amount whatever they pay on showroom so this the main reason to people prefer the local market.
However, In the present time local markets have everything available on their shops as same for the stores , They also have quality of products not just the cheapest things. For example, People are prefer imported stores only one reason for to take the quality products but now at the local areas they also have everything in the better quality so people are obviously to focus on the local markets instead of the any specific brand.
In conclusion, This is positive trend for universe as the biggest reason is save their money and in the short amount they can afford everything and also support to our local people who owned that shops.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for buying local and the opinion on whether it is a positive trend. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding cost and quality are repetitive and lack depth or specific real-world examples. The essay relies on generalisations rather than providing a well-supported discussion. While the position is clear, the supporting points are under-developed, which prevents the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations or concrete examples beyond simple price comparisons.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, phrases like 'This statement is goes to the positive trend' and 'as same for the stores' are confusing and disrupt the flow of ideas. The transition between sentences is sometimes abrupt, and the logical progression is hindered by grammatical errors that make it difficult to follow the argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'things', 'items', and 'shops'. There are also several instances of awkward word choice and incorrect collocations, such as 'go on the bigger showrooms' instead of 'visit large retail stores' and 'short amount' instead of 'limited budget'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas precisely. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to economics and consumer behaviour, and try to avoid repeating the same basic words throughout your response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('Most of the population are prefer', 'This statement is goes'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or contain incorrect verb forms, such as 'people choose to shopping' instead of 'people choose to shop'. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are almost always faulty. To reach a higher band, you must focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and the correct use of infinitives and gerunds.
