Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this modern era, organizations started producing artificial food due to high demand of consumable goods. Rather than buying imported goods, some individuals are increasingly buying those goods which are produced in their local area by famers. There are several reasons hidden behind this situation. From my perspective this is a very positive trend.

moving towards the reasons, there are two main reasons behind this situation, people wants promote there locally produce food and majority of imported goods includes artificial ingredients. Due to increasing population on the world, companies and famers facing problems to fulfill the demand of goods, so they add chemicals inside the foods to increase their size. To avoid this trend they trust on their local farmers and it is available at very lower prices. As a result, locally produced goods help them to stay healthy and very affordable for middle class families.

I believe this trend is positive, purchasing locally produced food help famers and governments. To elaborate, whenever people starts purchasing goods directly from locals, it help farmer to become self independent and financially stable. Moreover it also prevent the imports of foreign good which contributes the nation to become independent without relaying on other countries. As a consequences, more number of citizens get motivates for producing organic food due to high demand and income. To illustrate, whenever there more farmers in the nations it lead to eco-friendly environment and prevent air pollution and noice pollution.

To conclude, there are various positive trend behind purchasing local produce food, helps farmers and nation to becoming self independent and also prevent various pollutions. Imported foods are majority added with chemicals which lead to serious health related problems and also very expensive for middle class family are the reasons behind this situation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and the opinion on whether it is a positive trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the claim that local food is always cheaper is a generalization that could be challenged, and the link between local farming and noise pollution is not clearly explained or logically sound. While the position is clear throughout, the supporting arguments lack depth and specific examples, which limits the response to a Band 5.5 or 6.0 level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'To illustrate', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'As a consequences' (should be 'consequence') and 'moving towards the reasons'. The progression of ideas is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing, making the flow feel slightly disjointed. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be more cohesive to better link the supporting points to the main topic sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'artificial food' (likely meaning processed food), 'noice pollution' (spelling error), and 'relay on' (should be 'rely'). The student relies on basic vocabulary and struggles to use less common lexical items accurately. To improve, the student should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to economics and agriculture.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('people wants', 'companies and famers facing'), article usage ('on the world'), and pluralization ('more number of citizens'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. The student needs to focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common grammatical slips.
