Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, a lot of buyers are picking there daily need items from local venders then from modern goods. In my perspective this a positive advancement, and I will share my findings and view points below.

To begin with, I would like to put the attention on the increased princing items that are present in the market. Goods such as spices, pulses and vegetables are served on their high prices due to there fancy looking designs, colors and endorsements though, they have the same ingredients as normal products may have but because of their advertising they are getting hyped up.

The consumers who cannot buy such expensive items are severely suffering from massive loss and stress. To ellaborate, recent graph for 2026 has shown around 65-77% peoples are buying goods from their local areas because of their quality, trust and pricing wise. By which, they have started endorsing their own country products.

Also, by this the people who cannot buy can not afford can have a sense of pride, determination that they can also have clean and healthy products as to get proper nourishment for themselves. And with this they can grow their business and can earn more moreover, can build their own brand in future.

To conclude, it is not mandatory that if we are getting imported stuffs just because of their packaging can serve good products. However, from local consumers they can have faith and possibility for better quality and they can easily buy items according to their needs

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for buying local and the opinion on whether it is a positive trend. However, the development of ideas is limited. The explanation regarding 'pricing items' is somewhat confusing, and the argument about 'massive loss and stress' for consumers who cannot afford imported goods is an over-generalization that lacks logical depth. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments are underdeveloped and rely on vague assertions rather than concrete, well-reasoned points. To improve, you should focus on providing more specific examples and clearer logical links between the reasons for the trend and its positive impact.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'By which' is used incorrectly to start a sentence, and 'Also, by this' is a weak transition. The flow between ideas is sometimes disjointed, making the progression of the argument feel repetitive. While there is a clear attempt at an introduction and conclusion, the internal cohesion within paragraphs needs to be strengthened by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns and references clearly point to their intended subjects.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'picking there daily need items', 'increased princing items', and 'imported stuffs'. The term 'ellaborate' is misspelled. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the range of vocabulary is not sufficient to demonstrate flexibility or precision. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to economics and consumer behavior, and pay closer attention to spelling and the correct usage of common academic phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'peoples are buying'), incorrect word forms (e.g., 'pricing' instead of 'priced'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'can not afford can have'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas. While the meaning is usually clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence structure and proofreading for basic errors would be highly beneficial.
