Student answer (Band 5.0)

Well here I would like to share my thought for good for local area and imported.

First of if we discuss about local good which is made in our on country is very highly products because people who are staying in there country they are use this there local products because they feel its harmless and they might be using this product for a long time. For instance if they creams which are locally made it might be made from herbs which does not damage there skin and even if look deep in to food items they have there own production which they believe in. They also produce fresh fruits and unfortunately they have there own agriculture which they trust.

On the other hand the products which are imported are also good because they have a tag of imported stuff. If we focus some things like shampoo plus some skin care items they are branded and it does not effect the skin and even they have different kind of hair oil which give enrichment to hair. We can not be very positive but we can relay on the product because it is not fake. Many people are using imported product which they feel local products are not to helpful.

As my point of view this points relate that both the products are been use local and imported , Moreover if we see different people have different choice we can not encourage them to use what we feel they can have their own choice. So my feeling is what ever persons was to they always free to use.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for buying local and offering an opinion on the trend. However, the development of ideas is limited and often repetitive. For example, the discussion on local products focuses primarily on 'harmless' ingredients without exploring broader economic or environmental reasons. The opinion on whether the trend is positive or negative is not clearly stated; instead, the writer concludes that both are acceptable, which lacks the depth required for a higher band. The arguments are somewhat superficial and lack specific, well-supported examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While there are some cohesive devices like 'First of', 'For instance', and 'On the other hand', they are often used incorrectly or in a mechanical way. The referencing is frequently unclear, such as in the sentence 'if they creams which are locally made', where the subject is confusing. The transition between ideas is abrupt, and the lack of clear topic sentences makes it difficult for the reader to follow the argument's development throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'good', 'stuff', and 'things'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'highly products' instead of 'high-quality products' and 'relay on' instead of 'rely on'. The student struggles to express more complex ideas due to a restricted range of vocabulary. Some phrases are awkward, such as 'give enrichment to hair', which hinders the clarity of the message. To improve, the student needs to focus on learning collocations and more precise academic terminology.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people who are staying... they are use'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'Well here I would like to share my thought for good for local area and imported.' The use of complex structures is attempted but is almost always inaccurate, leading to confusion. The control of basic grammar is inconsistent, and punctuation is often misused, which significantly impacts the readability of the essay.
