Student answer (Band 5.0)
People are choosing to use and buy products that are from their locals rather then which have came from outside the country, this essay will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this topic in forth coming paragraph.
To commence with the merits people like to buy stuff from their local place because they trust what they are buying they know how its made who is selling to explicate it i will also prefer buying from a brand which i know rather then from a place which i do not even know but have only heard about it., as a result other people brain also works the same way they want to use things which they feel safe while using.
Further moving towards demerits while people only prefer to use things which they feel safe using still it is a bad idea because sticking to just local brands would never make them use another new things which can be good too, they have to explore more to understand it better that which product is good or not coming out of their comfort place.
This trend is good to follow and support your local brands because they know what they are using and they feel safe while using it yet exploring new imported products will simply make them learn more about other products too.
In conclusion, using and trying new products inside and outside from your country will only help you choose better options but for that you have to try everything while also supporting locals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for buying local and an evaluation of the trend. However, the development is quite limited. The reasons provided—trust and safety—are mentioned but not fully explored or supported with concrete examples. The evaluation of whether the trend is positive or negative is somewhat ambiguous, as the essay suggests it is both good and bad without taking a firm, well-reasoned stance. To improve, you should expand on your points with specific examples, such as the environmental impact of transport or the economic benefits to local communities, rather than relying on general statements about 'feeling safe'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often disjointed. There is a lack of sophisticated cohesive devices; the text relies on simple transitions like 'To commence with' and 'Further moving towards'. Some sentences are run-on, such as the second paragraph, which makes it difficult to follow the logical progression of your argument. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the lack of punctuation makes it hard to identify where one idea ends and another begins. Using a wider range of linking words and improving sentence boundary punctuation would significantly enhance the clarity of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'buy stuff', 'local place', and 'good' are used frequently, which limits the precision of your argument. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'from their locals' instead of 'from local producers' and 'forth coming paragraph' instead of 'following paragraphs'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more academic vocabulary and precise collocations related to the topic of consumerism and global trade. You currently have enough vocabulary to communicate your basic meaning, but it lacks the flexibility required for higher scores.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are issues with verb tenses ('which have came'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on, lacking necessary commas or full stops to separate independent clauses. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and using punctuation correctly to separate ideas. Reducing the number of run-on sentences will make your writing much more professional and easier to follow.
