Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, local businesses are very popular for local communities because they provides good quality. However, many costumers are increasingly choosing to buy many products that are made in their local area instead of imported goods which is a very positive trend.
First of all, everyone prefer to buy goods from the nearest shop from their home because that way they can save lots of money. For example, in my home country many people buy vegetables from directly to the farmers which are very cheap and received best quality without any fertilizer or chemical. Because all vegetables are fresh and directly cutting from the plants. Furthermore, many people usually buy dairy product from the local producer such as milk, cheese, paneer, Ice cream and so on. For instance, in the rural area majority dairy owner has buffalo, cow, goat, sheep so they all provides a better quality milk. That way they make different types of cheese by using different breed's milk because it is very popular way to selling goods from the local people and mostly local individuals buy that type of goods from their local area because they received best product.
Secondly, someone who regularly buy goods from the local market so they can missed some imported goods. Well, many of product which are not available in local area such as clothes, electronic accessories and so on. For instance, many consumers need mobile phone for surviving their life because it's become essential part of everyone's life so if they want to buy that type of thing so they don't have option to purchase from the local market so they purchase from the other platforms which is imported goods. In addition, every consumers has a choice what products they need in their daily life according that they can decide where they can buy and what thing they wants to.
In conclusion, many consumers buy goods which are produced in local area which is a strongly recommended and it is a very positive trend for local businesses and countries economy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and the evaluation of the trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat inconsistent. While the first paragraph provides clear examples regarding fresh produce, the second paragraph is confusing. It attempts to discuss why people still buy imported goods, but the argument is disjointed and does not clearly link back to the overall evaluation of the trend. The position is stated in the introduction as a 'positive trend,' but the supporting arguments lack the depth required for a higher band score. More focus on the economic or environmental benefits would have strengthened the response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a basic attempt at logical progression. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'Secondly, someone who regularly buy goods...' is grammatically awkward and does not effectively introduce the counter-argument. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the phrase 'according that they can decide,' which disrupts the flow of ideas. While the paragraphing is present, the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the sophisticated linking required for a higher band. The progression of ideas is occasionally interrupted by grammatical errors that make the logical connection between sentences difficult to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision expected at higher levels. There is a reliance on basic terms like 'good quality,' 'best product,' and 'things.' Some word choices are imprecise or non-standard, such as 'directly cutting from the plants' instead of 'harvested' or 'freshly picked.' There are also issues with word forms, such as 'costumers' (should be 'consumers') and 'selling goods' (should be 'the sale of goods'). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the presence of collocation errors limit the score in this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue, such as 'everyone prefer,' 'many of product which are not available,' and 'every consumers has.' There are also errors in tense and preposition usage, such as 'received best quality' and 'from directly to the farmers.' While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be distracting. The control over complex structures is limited, and the punctuation is occasionally inconsistent, which prevents the writing from reaching a higher level of accuracy.
