Student answer (Band 6.0)
Purchase of items from local area by the consumers is trending in 21st century. Although some people might consider it negative, I completely take it as positive trend. Not only because locally produced items are organic and preservative free but also it can generate revenue for the country. This assay will explore how this development is positive one.
There are multiple benefits of local products. Firstly, I would believe that consumers can get organic foods. As it is very hard to get pure foods from the super markets. Sometimes we find the organic food is totally out of budget despite of heath its benefits. Take an example of Canada, Agricultural lands is provided to the farmers by the government on easy interest free instalments, to grow a wide range of local food products. Thus, the local production of goods is indeed worthwhile.
Secondly, local products are preservative free which is beneficial for health purposes. As most of the chemicals used in preservation are cancerous elements due to usage of international products cancer rates are increasing. For instance, in USA, an article was published in November 2018, experiments was done by a scientist Smith, and concluded that cancer ratio is increased 15% in the last five years. Hence local products are extremely significant.
Finally, Local products can contribute in the economy of country. As more local goods are purchased as compared to international products can generate revenue for our own country.
To sum up, I believe that purchasing of local goods by consumer is a positive trend not only because its organic, fresh and preservative free but also can contribute in country economy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the writer's opinion. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While the health benefits are discussed with specific examples, the economic argument is underdeveloped, consisting of only one sentence. The position is clear from the introduction, but the supporting arguments lack depth. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the economic impact by explaining how local circulation of money creates jobs or supports small businesses, rather than simply stating it generates revenue. The essay covers the requirements but remains somewhat superficial in its analysis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Finally' to signal the structure. However, the use of these devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final paragraph where 'its' is used without a clear antecedent. Additionally, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the flow and coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'preservative free', 'organic', and 'revenue'. However, there are instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'I would believe that consumers can get organic foods' and 'cancer ratio is increased'. Some phrasing is also repetitive, particularly the use of 'local products' and 'international products'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and varying your vocabulary to avoid repetition. Expanding your range to include more sophisticated academic synonyms would help elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'Agricultural lands is provided' (subject-verb agreement), 'experiments was done' (passive voice error), and 'despite of heath its benefits' (preposition and pronoun error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentence structures are grammatically sound.
