To begin with, consumers buy goods and services from their local areas due to its tremendous benefits. First and foremost is that, they can avoid travelling cost when compared to importing products from other place. Moreover, buying from local places give much discounts for the whole amount of sale. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 144 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay identifies reasons for buying local and attempts to address whether it is a positive trend, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting evidence or examples. The conclusion is missing entirely, and the discussion of the 'negative' aspect is confusingly presented as a reason for buying local rather than a balanced view. To improve, you must expand each body paragraph with detailed explanations and concrete examples to fully address all parts of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into short paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with' and 'In addition', they are often followed by sentences that lack clear links to the main argument. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the lack of a concluding paragraph leaves the essay feeling incomplete. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to express complex ideas. There are several instances of awkward word choices and collocations, such as 'do wholesale purchase' instead of 'make wholesale purchases' and 'the whole amount of sale'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate precision or flexibility. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to economics and consumer behaviour, and avoid repeating simple words like 'buy' or 'products' by using synonyms such as 'purchase', 'acquire', 'commodities', or 'merchandise'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'most of them are prefer to buy', 'due to its tremendous benefits' (where 'its' lacks a clear antecedent), and 'if someone do wholesale purchase'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the punctuation is inconsistent. The errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and practicing the correct use of articles and prepositions before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
