Student answer (Band 6.0)

The most of the buyers is deciding to buy local products instead imported ones. These essay will expose the reason of this behaviours and will show wheather it is a negative or positve trend.

Some years ago, It was not eassy to find many productos made in the local region, therefore the only option for the consumers was buying imported goods, even they were expensive, there was a kind of monopoly and the people did not care about prices or as it was the only opction, they just based on their neccessity and they bought the product, and therefore the imported companies may be a bit abbusive and taking advantage of the consumer's neccessity and put higher prices to the products.

However nowadays, the economy has changed, and the offer has significantly increased, currently it is easy to find many options not only imported but also local goods, and this has happen because many people saw the neccessity to be more creative and become entepreneur and create their own company. For instace, you can see a lot of small open local not only in main city but also in Towns. And this is particularly positive because that means local development and it makes that depence to other countries can be avoided, especially when the politics situation may affect the transaction.

In conclussion, the consumer's behaviour has changed, now they choosing to buy local goods and it is a positive trend because that helps enteperneur families, supporting the local development and increasing economy of the country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and the evaluation of the trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The explanation regarding why people choose local goods is clear, but the discussion on whether it is a positive or negative trend is brief and lacks depth. For instance, the mention of 'local development' is a good point, but it could have been expanded with more specific examples or consequences. The position is clear throughout, but the overall response feels slightly underdeveloped for a Band 7, leaning more towards a Band 6 due to the lack of detailed supporting evidence.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There is a clear progression of ideas from the past to the present. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the repetitive use of 'and therefore' and 'and this is'. Referencing is generally clear, but some transitions between sentences feel abrupt. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'eassy', 'productos', 'opction', 'neccessity', 'abbusive', 'entepreneur', and 'conclussion'. These errors are frequent and occasionally distracting. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'monopoly' and 'transaction', the overall lexical control is limited. To improve, the student should focus on accurate spelling and incorporating more sophisticated collocations to express ideas more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'The most of the buyers is deciding' (subject-verb agreement), 'These essay will expose' (demonstrative pronoun error), and 'this has happen' (verb tense error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and comma splices. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band score.
