Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 3.0

The response is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which severely limits the development of ideas. While the introduction attempts to address the prompt by mentioning reasons and a position, the essay is incomplete and stops abruptly after the first sentence of the first body paragraph. Because the response is less than 100 words, it fails to address the task requirements in any meaningful way. To improve, you must ensure you provide a full introduction, two well-developed body paragraphs with supporting examples, and a conclusion. Currently, the lack of content makes it impossible to evaluate your ability to develop an argument or provide relevant examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The text is too short to demonstrate a logical progression of ideas or effective paragraphing. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Although' and 'in this piece of writing', the sentence structure is fragmented and the flow is interrupted by the incomplete nature of the response. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraph is non-existent as the essay cuts off. To achieve a higher score, you need to organize your ideas into clear paragraphs with logical links between sentences and ensure that your writing flows smoothly from one point to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is somewhat repetitive and basic. Phrases like 'consuming local products has increasing at an alarming rates' show issues with word form and collocation. There is an attempt to use more formal language, such as 'explicate' and 'precedence', but these are used incorrectly in context. The range of vocabulary is limited by the brevity of the text. To improve, focus on using words accurately in their correct grammatical form and try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to the topic of economics and consumer behavior.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the short text. For example, 'consuming local products has increasing' should be 'the consumption of local products has increased', and 'a section of society prefer' should be 'a section of society prefers'. The sentence structure is often awkward, such as the run-on sentence in the introduction. The use of punctuation is also inconsistent. You need to focus on subject-verb agreement, correct verb tenses, and sentence construction to ensure your meaning is clear and grammatically sound.
