Student answer (Band 6.0)
Most of the individuals like to consume imported good as it taste same as their home country. Few of the people select their local market goods as its fresh without any preservatives. The reasons is discussed below.
The main reason to opt for Local shops is that, they will come directly from the manufacturer without any third party owner. this makes it cheaper to buy. the other reason is they are free from preservatives, to increase their shelf life. Imported goods is expensive as it involves shipping and handling charges. in addition to this its house for the chemicals which help them to stay longer.
In my opinion its obvious to choose products which are prepared nearby because it would be cheaper in prices as it comes directly from seller. I feel satisfied as I could buy variety of products. I feel its positive change because I read in article, people who are relying on imported goods facing Health issues like Diabetes, Cholesterol and Low immunity. Manufacturers are adding colorants and preservative to keep them fresh and look pleasant. Item which are produced in our Local area, will give the original products without blending with our excipients. for instance Tofu sell by our Farmer market is fresh, taste good, whereas the imported tofu is mixed with other excipients to increase its life and it will not taste as good as the local ones.
I feel its positive trend due to the fact that people are more concerned about their health and spending smartly by selecting products from Local markets.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for choosing local goods and the evaluation of the trend. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While the reasons (cost and health) are clear, the explanation of the 'positive' nature of the trend relies heavily on personal opinion rather than broader societal analysis. The argument regarding health issues is a good attempt at support, but the language used to describe these points is occasionally simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on the economic or environmental implications of local versus imported goods with more sophisticated reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive. For example, the transition 'in addition to this' is used, but other links are missing or awkward, such as starting sentences with 'the reasons is discussed below' or 'its obvious'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with the use of 'its' and 'they' when referring back to plural nouns like 'goods'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring clear pronoun reference would significantly enhance the flow of the essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'goods', 'products', and 'fresh'. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary such as 'preservatives', 'colorants', and 'excipients', which is positive. However, there are errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'its house for the chemicals' (instead of 'it contains chemicals') and 'Tofu sell by our Farmer market' (instead of 'sold at our farmers' market'). Expanding your range of synonyms and focusing on accurate collocations will improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Imported goods is expensive'), missing articles ('in article'), and incorrect verb forms ('Tofu sell by'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several instances of missing or misplaced commas and incorrect capitalisation (e.g., 'Local', 'Farmer'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
