Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, There is a common trend going on in consumers regarding the purchase of goods locally , Instead of tnhimported items. I think this is a positive trend. I will describe my point of view in the upcoming paragraph.
Firstly, The main reason for this is that the buyers can easily commute to those places where products are getting ready and can get aware by the ingredients. For example, They can visit to factory in which rice got produce, From which they will get satisfy they are eating a healthy stuff. Secondly, Customers will get more aware when they can buy the seasonal fruit as they are locally living there and know about the weather easily. Such as, they know that it's time of summer but it's raining a lot in their city so it is not a good time to purchase the summer fruit like watermelon.
It is also believe that the cost of good will be lesser as compared to the imported items. Since, There will not be any transportation fees and more different charges which get applied when shipping the items from different countries. Moreover, People want to help the country by increasing their Gross Domestic Product(GDP). For instance, few countries increase the price of their item which will effect the another country and for preventing this huge amount of loss they stop buying imported items.
In Conclusion, I believe this trend is positive trend from the consumers. However, few individual believe that they can not stop using imported items as they get so habitual by using those. At the end, I believe this trend help the buyers more as they are purchasing the products from their country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for buying local and the opinion on whether it is a positive or negative trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation regarding GDP is slightly unclear, as the link between local purchasing and national economic health is asserted rather than fully explained. The examples provided, such as the seasonal fruit scenario, are relevant but could be more sophisticated to demonstrate a deeper understanding of the topic. The position is clear throughout, but the arguments would benefit from more detailed elaboration to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In Conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'It is also believe that' and 'At the end'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the final paragraph where the connection between the counter-argument and the conclusion is somewhat abrupt. While the overall progression is coherent, the use of cohesive devices lacks the flexibility and natural flow required for a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at topic-specific vocabulary like 'Gross Domestic Product' and 'imported items'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward phrasing, such as 'get aware by the ingredients', 'get satisfy', and 'habitual by using those'. These errors occasionally impede the natural flow of the text. To improve, the student should focus on learning collocations and more precise terminology related to economics and consumer behavior.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('It is also believe'), incorrect verb forms ('rice got produce'), and punctuation errors, such as unnecessary capitalization ('There', 'Instead', 'The'). While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding the message, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. The student should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring that complex sentence structures are constructed correctly to avoid these persistent slips.
