Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, there is a common trend among consumers regarding the purchase of goods locally, instead of imported items. I think this is a positive trend. I will describe my point of view in the upcoming paragraph.
Firstly, the main reason for this is that the buyers can easily commute to those places where products are manufactured and can become aware of the ingredients. For example, they can visit a factory in which rice is produced, from which they will get satisfied that they are eating a healthy food. Secondly, customers will get more aware when they can buy the seasonal fruit as they are locally living there and know about the weather easily. Such as, they know that it's time of summer but it's raining a lot in their city so it is not a good time to purchase the summer fruit like watermelon.
It is also believed that the cost of goods will be lower as compared to the imported items. Since, there will not be any transportation fees and more different charges which get applied when shipping the items from different countries. Moreover, people want to help the country by increasing their Gross Domestic Product(GDP). For instance, few countries increase the price of their item which will affect another country and for preventing this huge amount of loss they stop buying imported items.
In Conclusion, I believe this trend is a positive trend from the consumers. However, few individuals believe that they can not stop using imported items as they get so habitual by using those. At the end, I believe this trend helps the buyers more as they are purchasing the products from their country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the trend and the writer's opinion on whether it is positive. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The explanation regarding 'seasonal fruit' and 'weather' is slightly confusing and lacks logical clarity. The argument about GDP is relevant but remains superficial. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations and more convincing, real-world examples. While your position is clear, the supporting arguments need more depth and logical cohesion to fully satisfy the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a clear overall progression. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In Conclusion' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and the flow between sentences within paragraphs can be disjointed. For example, the transition between the discussion of ingredients and the discussion of seasonal fruit is abrupt. Improving the use of referencing and more sophisticated linking words would help the ideas flow more naturally and improve the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'manufactured', 'ingredients', and 'Gross Domestic Product'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'get satisfied' instead of 'be assured' or 'get so habitual' instead of 'become accustomed'. To improve, try to incorporate a wider range of less common lexical items and focus on more natural collocations to convey your points with greater precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'they are locally living there' (word order), 'it's time of summer' (article usage), and 'more different charges' (redundant phrasing). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but some sentence constructions are slightly unnatural. To achieve a higher score, focus on reducing these recurring errors and aim for greater accuracy in complex sentence structures, ensuring that your grammar supports rather than distracts from your message.
