Student answer (Band 6.5)
In today' era, an increasing number of people prefer to buy local made products in their own area instead of purchasing goods from others countries. This trend mainly caused by concern about quality, the environment and positively support to the local business. So ,I firmly believe that this statement has more advantages. Hence, I will elaborate on reasons with relevant examples in these paragraphs.
To commence with, one primary reason behind why some individuals prefer locally produced good is that they often believe that these products are freshers and better quality. For instance, Locally grown fruits ,vegetables , and dairy product reach quickly, which may mean that they are freshers than imported alternatives .Another crucial reason is that consumers may have greater confidence in local producers because they learn more about how their product are made. Moreover, buying local products helps support the local economy. When people purchase good from the farmers, manufacturers, and small businesses, they create employment and keep money within their countries.
Another significant reason is that it has environment benefits. Imported goods often need to be transported over long distances by ships, planes and trucks , which create significant amount of carbon emission. In contrast, locally produced goods generally require less transportation. Therefore, choosing local products can help reduce the environmental impact of consumption.
On the other hand, this trend has also some drawbacks. Local products sometimes more expensive because they produced on a smaller scale and may not benefit from the lower cost associated with mass production. Furthermore, some imported goods may offer greater variety or better than locally available products.
To sum up, it can be said that , al though buying local products can be sometimes be more expensive and limited choice, I believe that it is a positive trend because it support the local economies, the environmental damage and provides fresh vegetables and fruits.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and clearly stating your position that it is a positive development. Your ideas are relevant, such as the focus on freshness, economic support, and environmental impact. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, while you mention that local products are 'freshers', you could have expanded on the supply chain benefits more deeply. The conclusion is a bit repetitive, simply listing points rather than synthesizing your argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that each reason is fully explored with a clear link back to the overall argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'In contrast' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or misused, such as the awkward placement of 'So ,I' at the start of the essay. Additionally, there are minor issues with punctuation and spacing around commas, which occasionally disrupts the flow. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, the use of cohesive devices could be more sophisticated and varied to improve the overall cohesion of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your ideas, including terms like 'carbon emission', 'mass production', and 'imported alternatives'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'freshers' (which is not the correct comparative form of 'fresh') and 'positively support to the local business' (which should be 'positive support for local businesses'). There are also some spelling and morphological errors, such as 'local made' instead of 'locally made'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that word forms are grammatically accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, they often contain errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'this trend mainly caused by' (missing 'is') and 'their product are made' (should be 'products'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement and spacing. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to limit your score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring consistent verb forms would significantly improve your writing.
