Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people are opting to buy the products more and more from their city or state rather then choosing the other state or country. This essay will solidify why the upsides overshadows the downsides which are stated in the subsequent paragraphs.

To commence with, there are mutlifacted merits of buying the goods from their own community also make good relation with the owner and can have easily trust on the products as well as we cna get the product in the cheap rates as well. To be add on it, company can also create more employment to that area and if their is more oppourtunities, government organization invest more fund in developing that city as well. To explicate, People can go out to buy the product at cheap rates from the market whereever they are in need of that thing as well pupils don't have to purchase the thing in bulk amount rather than worring about the price increase. To exemplify, my presonal experience with the Tennis ball, there is company named as too-hoo ball company they used to make balls and their first company is located in my village, so first their ball are not selling because they are selling the balls in 15 rupees and later on they decided to sell it for the 10 rupees, so children started buying and they also refer to their friends, it is kind of marketting where company has to not invest any money.

On contrary, the only downside I thing about this is, the organization when they import the goods they have to pay the tax to their country as well as to the country the goods has been imported. So here the prize increase as well as they also need to pay the travel expense of how the goods will be transfered. To illustrates this, I have talked about the ball company, when I came to canada I went to purchase some grocery as well as to buy some things that i require to play cricket is bat and ball, however I have taken bat from my friend but he don't have tennis ball so I went to this store named as Panchvati and they used to sell 2-3 variety of tennis ball and I found this same ball which company is in my village and when i saw the price the cost is around 6-7 canadian dollar if we converts it into indian currency it is approximately more than 350 rupees.

Conclusively, the uptrend that is like create more emplyement it also includes the exporting the products as well so the comapny can grow but here the price and quality matter of the goods where positves totally surpassed the negative .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for buying local and the evaluation of the trend. However, the development of ideas is often hampered by unclear expression and repetitive phrasing. For instance, the explanation regarding 'employment' and 'government investment' is somewhat vague. The example provided about the 'too-hoo ball company' is personal and relevant, but the narrative is difficult to follow due to grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, which obscures the logical connection to the prompt. To reach a higher band, you should focus on developing your arguments with more precise, objective reasoning rather than relying on anecdotal evidence that is difficult to parse.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is frequently interrupted by mechanical and inaccurate use of cohesive devices. Phrases like 'To be add on it' and 'On contrary' are used incorrectly, which makes the progression of ideas feel disjointed. While there is an attempt to use linking words, they are often misused or placed awkwardly, such as 'To explicate, People can go out...'. The referencing is also occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logical development of your argument. Improving the variety and accuracy of your transition signals will significantly enhance the readability of your work.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The range of vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'cheap rates' instead of 'affordable prices' and 'make good relation' instead of 'build strong relationships'. Additionally, there are several spelling errors, such as 'mutlifacted', 'oppourtunities', 'presonal', and 'emplyement'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the high frequency of errors in basic vocabulary prevent a higher score. You should focus on learning collocations and ensuring you use words in their correct context to improve your lexical precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently marred by grammatical errors. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the upsides overshadows'), article usage, and tense consistency. Punctuation is also problematic, with many run-on sentences that lack proper clause separation. For example, '...there is company named as too-hoo ball company they used to make balls and their first company is located in my village...' contains multiple grammatical slips that impede clarity. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and reducing the frequency of errors in your complex structures.
