Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this modern era, individuals needs some many things in their everyday life to complete their routine tasks. However, few shoppers are rapidly love to purchase the products from their local market instead of big shopping malls or supermarkets that mostly promote foreign brands. There are plethora of reasons behind this development. As per my view, this development has both pros and cons. I will discuss in the upcoming paragraphs.
First and foremost reason is that masses support their local cultural and traditional. They like to use hand-made products rather than imported goods. Because local goods are more fresh and healthy . For example, In India, in my hometown people go farmers market to buy fruits and vegetables because everything is not only fresh or without any chemical and pesticide but also cheap price. Secondly, local people love to safe their cultural and traditional , if they start consuming outside products such as, clothing and food. They think that they will lost their roots with their ancesters.
This is a negative trend because individuals will not enjoy upcoming trends and fashion. For instance, if the new electronic item coming in the market that's really helpful for cooking aids which not only saves time but also money. So why not they should try if they save their time and also teach their children about it. World is changing now, they should also take a part of that.
According to my view, this is positive development if few masses use local products to save their history or cultural. They will also motived to others people. In this way, they also set good examples in the front of tourist that is good source to expand their traditional food and hand made items. As a result, local shopkeeper earn good money and more people get employment.
Although, this development a lot of reasons and all reasons are good and profitable for everyone but avoid new and modern technology items that's not good way .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for buying local and an evaluation of the trend. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While the reasons for buying local are clear, the discussion on whether it is a positive or negative trend is contradictory. In the third paragraph, you label it a 'negative trend,' but in the fourth, you call it a 'positive development.' This lack of a clear, consistent position makes it difficult for the reader to follow your argument. To improve, ensure your stance is established in the introduction and maintained throughout the essay, providing more balanced support for your chosen position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'First and foremost' and 'Secondly.' Some transitions between sentences are abrupt, and the logical flow is hindered by the contradictory arguments mentioned in the task achievement section. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with the use of pronouns like 'they' and 'it,' which do not always have a clear antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'masses support their local cultural and traditional' (should be 'culture and traditions') and 'everything is not only fresh or without any chemical' (should be 'free from chemicals'). You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with word forms, such as using 'motived' instead of 'motivated.' To improve, focus on learning word families and common collocations, and try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic of consumerism and globalization.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('individuals needs'), incorrect article usage, and awkward phrasing ('In this way, they also set good examples in the front of tourist'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency to improve your accuracy.
