IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Some consumers are increasingly choosing to buy goods that are produced in their local area, rather than imported goods.

What are the reasons for this?

Is this a positive or a negative trend?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent years,they have been a debat for the increasement of locally produced bought goads rather than foreign productions. I believe locally productions are less expensive and have a good quality than foreign goads.

Firstly, locally produced goads are less expensive, because the products used are local product which is not expensive .for example, a bag produced locally cuase less than a bag imported because the is no shipping cost added to it so as a result the local citizens are able to buy it with no stress.

Secoundly, local goads have a good quality than foreign productions because the local producers uses natural materials for the production of goods ,For example, chocolate produced in Ghana have a better teste compared to foreign chocolate so as a result the local people prefer to buy local chocolate rather than foreign chocolate.

In my experience I bought a bag from a local company and also a bag which exported. I noticed local bag lasted longer than the foreign bags

In conclusion, people prefer to buy from the local people because. It less expensive and also have good quality.
