Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many people consider to have their national products while purchasing goods instead of buying foreign products. The reason behind is that, those products are suitable for their interest and also environment of their country. It has positive impact and some positive impacts has been discussed in this essay with relevant examples.

To begin with the reason behind this trend is that, many products are suitable for their native people, because before producing the product many company do survey with their consumers about their interest. In addition, there are few goods those are perfect with the country climate rather then different country goods. For example, in 2024 I bought power motor for my farm from Germany, after one year some problems has been started with it. It was stopping in between work and some of their plastic elements start melting because of heat as India consider as a hot nation.

On the first side, this trend has many positive impact. Firstly, It can increase economy of their own Country, due to increasing demand of product man power should be consumed and it lower the employment rate for the nation. Secondly, it can work as an appreciation for local business, they can implement new products in market if they are success in their business.

On the feasible side, there is only one negative impact of this trend is that, Country people can be unaware of foreign product, hence they can feel away from globalization.

In conclusion, the reason to choose their own country product is because of suitability of their own as well as their county atmosphere. On top of that it has positive trend as booming country economy and appreciation of local businessman.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for choosing local goods and whether this is a positive or negative trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide a personal example regarding a German motor, the explanation of why this trend is positive or negative remains superficial. For instance, the argument about the economy is briefly mentioned but lacks depth or specific evidence. To improve, ensure that each point is fully extended with clear reasoning and illustrative examples that directly support your position, rather than listing points briefly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'On the first side' and 'On the feasible side', which are not standard English transitions. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, making the progression of ideas feel disjointed. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'consider to have their national products' and 'man power should be consumed'. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with collocations, such as 'lower the employment rate' (which should be 'lower the unemployment rate'). To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to economics and globalization, and pay closer attention to how words are combined in natural English phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('some problems has been started', 'some positive impacts has been discussed') and incorrect preposition usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, specifically verb tenses and pluralisation.
